LAYING OF WREATHS
- Ian, Scott, and James McLucas – representing three generations of the Mclucas family & in remembrance of Tom Walker McLucas OAM BEM, 2/24 Bn, 9 AIF who passed away in January this year. Tom served on Tarakan during WWII and on his return he worked tirelessly for all ex-service persons and war widows. Tom’s Anzac community involvement included 50 years as parade Marshall at the Bundaberg Dawn and Citizens Parades; 30 years involvement with Moore Park Citizens Parade; almost 10 years Representing the RSL at the Bargara Dawn Service; Burnett Heads Citizens Parade; Elliott Heads VDC memorial; and ANZAC presentations to local schools.

- Mr Malcolm Fraser in memory of the life & service of his father Flight Lieutenant Alexander William Fraser, DFC & Bar. Lieutenant Fraser was decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross & Bar when, as a member of Coastal Command, he sank two U-Boats of the coast of England during World War 2. He was killed when his aircraft exploded during his return from a covert operation.
- Ms Jo Laurie – visiting us from Parkes, NSW & with gratitude and in memory of her family members who were so proud to be Australian – Uncle George Hamon, killed in action 22nd May 1917 in France at the age of 22 years, (Poppo) Charles Harper, 35th Battalion Infantry WW1 & Intelligence Corps WW2, Uncle Adrian Harper, 17th Battalion Infantry WW1, Uncle Kelly Harper, (Rat of Tobruk) Infantry & 2nd Battalion WW2, Uncle Arthur Harper, 3rd Battalion Ack Ack Regiment, WW2 & 3rd Battalion Korea, Uncle Jack Harper 3 RAR Infantry Korea & her father Jim Harper 3RAR, Infantry, Korea
- Mrs Jewelly Dwyer – representing Mrs Isobel Barnes & commemorating the life and service of her father the late Sgt. Major George Edward McClughan, Royal Irish Rifles & Royal Artillery, Active Service in the Middle East, Burma and Sumatra and 2 years incarceration on the Burma Railway and later in Chiangi Prisoner of War Camp
- Mrs June Cannon & Mrs Lea Spruce – commemorating the life and service of their father & grandfather, the late Major Charles August Wittkopp MC who served with the 9th Battalion in France from 1916 to 1918. Awarded the Military Cross at Lagnicourt, 8 May 1917. Severely wounded Oct 1917 during 3rd Battle of Ypres & returned to Australia March 1918. Served with AN & MEF in New Guinea from 1918 to 1920 and with Australian Military Forces from 1940 to 1942 in the 47th Battalion.
- Sam & Sofie Felgate – commemorating the life and service of their Great Grandfather, Cpl Cyril Wallace Ryan (known as Digger Ryan) NX155967 N267960, 3rd Battalion Infantry AMF who fought on The Kokoda Trail and was wounded by Japanese gunfire at Templeton’s Crossing.
- Mrs Sandra Robinson BEM – Served British Armed Forces Military Police, London MOD, Germany and 4 months in Australia
- Mr Mark Osborn – representing the Bargara Remembers Committee
- Ms Cynthia Hoogstraten – dedicated to the men, women and children, who were incarcerated in prisoner of war camps during WWII. Cynthia also pays tribute to those who lost their lives; to the indomitable spirit of those who survived and to the allied forces who set them free.
